BIOMECHANICS
Run faster without more fitness
Running mechanics is the most neglected physical component of run training.
Are you ready to discover how fast you can really run?

There is a great deal of research on running biomechanics. It makes for great reading if you are a bio-mechanist. Deciding what is scientific and practical is challenging. Research has not reached the runner. Much of what is being offered is pseudo-science or homespun myth. Much of the information is difficult to interpret. Bobby McGee has helped some of the world’s best runners and triathletes to run faster. He has also assisted countless regular runners. If you feel you have a handle on your training centrally (heart, lungs & O2 delivery), peripherally (specific leg strength & muscle endurance), and mentally, but are stuck on a plateau, perhaps you need help with your form. McGee has answers; proven, practical, tried and tested. Make use of this information on whatever level works for you.

In order to be the most economical runner you can be, i.e. run as fast as your fitness predicts, you must consider your mechanics as well.

Bobby McGee knows the secrets to harnessing your fitness & potential.
Read what some of the best athletes in the world have to say:
“In the early part of my career, when I was transitioning from being a swimmer to being a triathlete, Bobby helped me with my running form. I took his guidance to heart & in a very brief period was able to apply his principles & alter my form in such a way that I could run train effectively without fear of injury or plateauing.”
Andy Potts, World Champion & Olympic Triathlete
I have worked with Bobby McGee since 2004. Besides his coaching, which turned my career around, he paid particular attention to my form; something I’d not had before in my career. Having torn my plantar fascias repeatedly in the past, not only did I become injury free (with no breaks from competition because of injury in the 4 years that he has coached me), but I went on to become one of the world’s top steeplechasers, represented my country in the world championship finals & on 3 other occasions. I set the current American record for 2000m Steeplechase. He knows his stuff & his approach to biomechanics definitely works for me.
Carrie Messner-Vickers, US Athlete & Record Holder
Congrats to Bobby for taking me from being diagnosed a "most likely never going to run again" former athlete in 2006 to a 2007 USA Triathlon Age Group All American. Amazing!! I was running down famous Alii drive here in Kona at lunch today doing some up tempo stuff while focusing on cadence and form that I learned from him when it hit me....I wasn't supposed to be able to do this running thing anymore...HA!!! Here’s a cheer to what good people can do to help one another realize their dreams!!Grateful in Kona.
Eddie Herd, Coach and USA Triathlon Age Group All American
Bobby has over 25 years of experience at the highest level. Make use of one of the following ways to get your running up to the kind of speeds you are capable of.
In a session with Bobby he will evaluate your current running style, point out any form inconsistencies, and suggest drills to address these. You will receive a series of analyzed pictures and a report to reinforce the lesson in a PowerPoint format. These biomechanical individual analyses are 90 minutes in duration. If you are local (Denver/Boulder, Colorado) or wish to travel and wish to have a personal session with Bobby please contact us. Bobby travels extensively and may be available in a city near you to do a few sessions if his schedule permits. Contact us if this might be an option. Follow his schedule on the Home Page.
Although Form and Gait Analysis is most effective when an athlete spends time with Bobby personally. This is not always possible. Bobby has developed a method for providing this essential information. Please click here to see an example of the report that Bobby creates for athletes not able to visit with him in person.
In order to create these graphics and the report, there are specific items that you will need to send to Bobby. They are:
1. Digital photographs, from the front, back, left and right sides. Bobby will also need to be able to see 4 running phases - front swing phase, front support phase, rear support phase and rear swing phase. Click here to see a view of these phases, this is Barb Lindquist, 2004 Olympian and ITU World #1 Triathlete for 2 years..
2. Video footage sent via YouTube. This footage should show views from the front, back, left and right sides. Clip should include 30sec of continuous running.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.
