ABOUT BOBBY McGEE 27 Years in the Business of Endurance
Bobby McGee is an internationally acclaimed endurance coach, author and speaker. He has been involved with the training and development of an Olympic Champion, world champions and numerous world record holders and Olympians. Through his coaching, lecturing and writing, he has become a much sought after figure in the world of human potential fulfillment. He has appeared on his own coaching slot on national television. He has been a columnist and technical editor for Runner's World - South African edition and has been published dozens of times all over the world. He is the author of 3 critically acclaimed publications: Magical Running (active), on the mental approach to successful running, Running Sports Essentials (active) on training modalities in support of effective running, and his latest book, Run Workouts for Runners & Triathletes (active), providing workouts and training plans from 5km to the marathon, plus triathlon plans. As a coach and teacher he uses his extensive knowledge of exercise physiology, bio-mechanics and sport psychology, plus a quarter of a century’s worth of practical experience to extract the best out of an athlete on race day. He has a knack for peaking athletes for major events.
His highly effective training system creates remarkable results at all levels of competition. He is a master at practically implementing the extremely difficult process of addressing running mechanics. Add to this his vast experience and incisive work in sport psychology and you have a coach who represents the full package. Couple this with his unique style and powerful presence it becomes clear why he achieves the results that he does. His athletes enjoy lengthy careers characterized by their continued efforts to improve throughout.
Besides the Olympic Gold Medal, his athletes have at one time or another held world records in road running and race walking, been world champions or medalists in world championships (road running, triathlon, cross country and race walking), been ranked #1 in triathlon, road racing, marathons and race walking.

- Bobby serves USA Triathlon as an elite athlete consultant, coach educator and technical advisor. He was involved closely with USA Olympic triathlon in 2004 and 2008. Also does coach education work for International Triathlon Union as a development coach and coach educator. He served as South African marathon coach to the Barcelona Olympic Games. Bobby has assisted athletes in every Olympic Games since 1988. He is part of the support team of USA triathlon for 2012 Games in London.
