BOBBY AT USAT LEVEL II COACH EDUCATION WORKSHOP
Bobby has been working at the various USAT qualification courses and travelling much to get to all these. Since returning from the ITU World Champs in Australia he has travelled from Boulder to Los Angeles, Seattle and Colorado Springs. Below Bobby is seen working with triathlon coaches at the Level II Coach Education workshop in Colorado Springs.
GUEST from SOUTH AFRICA
Bobby hosted special guest, Ross Tucker here in Boulder. Ross is a prominent exercise physiologist who seems to have learned the ways of science from his famous mentor, Tim Noakes (he of The Lore of Running fame)l Look out for his amazing blog, The Science of Sport. Below Bobby, Ross and Simon Martin working on their first radio broadcast.
ITU Junior and U23 Camp is a Wrap
Bobby's work at the ITU World Junior and U23 Camp in Australia is over. Now it's on to the World Championships and work with some of the professional athletes racing for the USA.
These camps are put on by the ITU for countries whose athletes qualify through their regions and who do not have 2 or more triathlon participants in the Games. It was a fantastic camp this time around, with a number of athletes from 2006 and 2007 present. There was no camp in 2008. The improvement was dramatic - it's great to see athletes and former camp graduates like Barbara Riveros now being wrold ranked and placing in world cup races. As usual it was very comprehensive in terms of both training and skills development. Three sports a day, with skills and lectures in between. Enjoy the pics.
Bobby McGee in Australia
Bobby's second day in Aussie was a monster affair with three 90 min run/drills sessions with Juniors, ITU U23's and Age Groupers. He also conducted a 75 min mental skills lecture for High Performance Triathletes.
As you might know, Bobby has completed a running mechanics DVD with USAT. We are excited & hope this will fill a much needed gap in Bobby’s teaching materials—there have been SO many requests for a product that gives athletes access to his run mechanics methodology. Recently he set up a shoot with elite runner Carrie Messner, (whom he coaches) for additional footage towards the DVD. Watch the website for launch details on the DVD, which is now in the hands of the publisher (Endurance Films). Here are some pics of Carrie running & some of the fun involved with a video shoot! Our videographer is Stu Rhodes & Marci (Roschke) played the role of PA (production assistant).

Bobby Gives Talk at Boulder Running Company
On Wednesday, July 1 Bobby McGee was joined by World Champion Marathoner Mark Plaatjes for a talk at the Boulder Running Company. The talk focused on the differences between straight up running and running off the bike and how runners and triathletes can learn from each other. The discussion was punctuated with interesting stories and lively debate with the audience. It also served to promote Bobby’s new book Run Workouts for Runners and Triathletes, (available in the book trade or through www.BobbyMcGee.com). Mark authored the marathon plans in the book.
Here you can see Bobby (black shirt) making a point while Mark (green shirt) considers his reply.
